Vehicle Description Offered for sale is this top-notch 1939 Ford Deluxe Hot Rod formerly owned by NASCAR legend and one of the winningest drivers in the series - David Pearson.
The sun visor is signed by Mr.
Pearson.
The all-steel body is finished in Jefferson Blue over a brown Tobacco leather interior with traditional-style carpeting.
The car was sold in 2011 as a fully-completed and functional build from David Pearson's collection with 6,220 miles.
From 2011-2012, the Ford was given a second no-expense spared cosmetic restoration which included:
a color change to the current Jefferson Blue, an updated leather interior with the current brown Tobacco leather, some upgrades to the drivetrain including triple Rochester carbs, and the addition of air conditioning.
The stately combination of blue and chrome which swathes the exterior is beautifully accented by red on the wheels and bumpers along with the deep Brown leather covering the interior.
The styling of the classic, all-steel body and interior has been left largely original with a focus on details and performance under the skin.
Unlike many hot-rods, this '39 Deluxe was built to drive and features a modified Chevrolet 350ci V8 with triple Rochester carbs mated to a TH350 Automatic transmission with a GM 10-bolt rear.
The chassis has been heavily modified to allow for a smoother and more confident ride, including custom tubular cross-members, a triangulated 4-link system with coilover shocks, tubular control arms, four wheel disc brakes, and rack-and-pinion steering.
The interior features cold AC, and working vintage-style radio in the glovebox.
Currently showing 1,372 miles on the Classic Instruments gauges, mileage is believed to reflect actual miles since 2012.
