Supervisory Interdisciplinary (Planning Officer)

This is an interdisciplinary position and may be filled in any of the following series, GS-0101, GS-0401, GS-0807, GS-0810, or GS-1301, depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate. Serves as the Regional Planning Officer managing the Division's preparation of multipurpose integrated resource management plans for the development and use of water, land, and power resources within the Region. Directs the investigation and appraisal of resources and requirements, taking into account the area's recreational aspects, fish and wildlife resources, water quality, drainage requirements, flood and pollution control, and sediment problems. Directs the formulation of comprehensive and extensive engineering plans for new Bureau of Reclamation projects, as well as additions to, or modifications of, existing projects and ensures engineering, economic and environmental soundness of plans. Establishes and maintains partnerships with Federal, State, other public and private agencies interested and involved in the conservation and development of water resources associated with agricultural, industrial, and urban areas. Represents the Regional Director on a variety of planning-related interagency or Bureau-wide committees and task forces, and at meetings with other federal and state agencies and outside groups. Utilizes subordinate supervisors to plan, schedule, assign, set and adjust short-term priorities for work activities for an assigned staff of professional, technical and administrative personnel. To meet specialized experience, your resume must describe experience that demonstrates the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities as follows:
GS-14:
Directing a program or program segment that performs appraisal and feasibility studies; experience managing water resource projects through planning, design and construction; experience with water resources, water supply, environmental restoration, or hydroelectric development projects. This experience must have been gained in direct support of water resources facilities such as dams and their appurtenant structures or other significant water resources studies designed to stabilize, protect, restore and enhance estuarine or river environments. These examples are not all inclusive. Experience that would not normally be part of an applicant's position may be creditable when documented by satisfactory evidence (e.g., a memorandum from the manager or human resources director, SF-52, or similar documentation). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Applicants will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
