As a Native American Liaison your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Works closely with tribes to facilitate consultation and communication between tribes and the Service, and to provide technical assistance and financial resources, where possible, to support the development of tribal programs to protect and enhance habitat and native species, including Federally protected and endangered species. Serves as the liaison for matters in Region 8 relating to endangered species, habitat conservation, refuge, fisheries and migratory bird planning and management affecting the interests of Native American Tribes. Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with Native American tribes, organizations, committees, etc., relative to pertinent Service programs, projects, initiatives, etc., as they interact with Native American interests. Represents the Service and the Region at meetings and conferences relating to Native American issues. Provides advice and guidance to Native American tribes regarding obtaining or regaining grant eligibility. Coordinates and facilitates the development of grant request submissions to maximize the use of the Tribal Wildlife Grants Program to support tribal management needs. Promotion Potential:
This position involves a multi-grade career ladder. The major duties listed represent the full performance level of GS-13. At lower grade levels, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence. You will progressively acquire the background necessary to perform at the full performance level of GS-13. Only experience and education obtained by 10/28/2020 will be considered. Minimum Qualification GS-11 To be found qualified for this position at the GS-11 grade level, your application materials must demonstrate either A, B, or C below:
A. Possess one year of full-time specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the federal government (this experience could have been gained internally or externally from the Federal Government) that demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of this position. Qualifying specialized experience such as:
1) working with tribal and non-tribal agencies on issues and/or projects pertaining to protection and management of natural resources on tribal lands; 2) maintaining an established network and partnership with Native American tribes and public interest organizations to resolve natural resource issues; and 3) possessing written and oral communication skills to collaborate, interact, and communicate with Native American tribes and public interest organizations. NOTE:
your resume must contain sufficient detail to prove you have one year experience performing these duties. OR B. Successful completion of three or more full years of graduate education in an accredited college or university leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a field directly related to this position. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition, 54 semester hours is considered as satisfying the requirement for three years of full- time graduate study. OR C. Combination of qualifying specialized experience as described in response A and qualifying graduate education as described in response B that equals 100 percent of the GS-11 requirement. To combine education and experience, divide your number of graduate semester hours in excess of 36 by 18 (or the number your school uses to represent one year of graduate education). Divide months of qualifying specialized experience by 12. These two numbers must equal 100 percent when combined. Minimum Qualification GS-12 To be found qualified for this position at the GS-12 grade level, your application materials must demonstrate that you have at least one year of full-time specialized experience equal to the GS-11 grade level in the federal government that demonstrates your skills, and abilities to perform the duties of this position such as:
1) facilitating consensus between tribal and non-tribal agencies on issues pertaining to natural resources on tribal lands; 2) establish and maintain working relationships with senior leaders, Native American tribes, and public interest groups to accomplish common goals; or 3) possessing strong written and oral communication skills to communicate with leadership at various organizations. NOTE:

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time In Grade Requirement:
Applicants must meet both eligibility and qualification requirements for the position of interest by the closing date of the JOA. Specifically:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
