DETAILED INSPECTOR GENERAL

THIS IS A T5 EXCEPTED SERVICE, INDEFINITE POSITION. Selectee may be non-competitively converted to permanent status if/when funding becomes available or position becomes unencumbered. The primary purpose of the DETAILED INSPECTOR GENERAL, GS-1801-12, is to report to the State/JFHQ IG on discipline, efficiency, morale, economy, training, and readiness of the State National Guard. Provides assistance to Soldiers, Airmen, and their family members on a wide range of issues and subjects. Participates in DOD/DA/DAF State inspections, inquiries, and investigations to perform review, analysis, evaluation, staffing and coordination. Develops/interprets policies and published guidance throughout the State and to the IG. Prepares and reviews periodic and recurring IG reports and analyses of deficiency trends for the State and presents these trends to the IG and state leadership. Investigates or inquires to substantiate alleged or suspected instances of non-compliance of individuals or organization with laws, rules, regulations, executive orders, or other mandatory regulatory requirements. The position resides within the infrastructure and support functions of the state National Guard; the incumbent is not subject to mobilization, nor is the work described part of the military mission; and the incumbent does not perform a key advisory or essential administrative role that is inherently military. In addition, the position must meet one of the following:
It does not have a comparable military function; the position is required in full-time (civilian) role when the organization, or similar military position, is mobilized to perform continuing post-mobilization functions; or the position requires a skill or competency that necessitates technical expertise or professional qualifications that cannot be readily found in the military structure of the state military force. May make additional selections within 90 days of eligible(s) issuance. DETAILED INSPECTOR GENERAL, GS-1801-12:
Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-11 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. Specialized experience may have been demonstrated by performing duties such as:
Experience evaluating and processing inspection/investigation deficiencies; Experience developing and updating internal office protocol and guidelines; Performs long range planning and analysis; Conducts interviews and data gathering assignments in the administrative and management areas; Determines responsiveness of organizational replies and adequacy of response/corrective actions taken on reported deficiencies resulting from reports of general, procurements and technical inspections/ inquires/investigation; Processes complaints and requests for assistance emanating from personnel within the State and investigates or inquires to substantiate alleged or suspected instances of non-compliance of individuals or organization with laws, rules, regulations, executive orders, or other mandatory regulatory requirements. Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid work on the same basis as for paid experience. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
