The Supervisory Regional Land Surveyor salary will be based upon duty station and locality pay once selected. Locality tables may be found at:

If selected you may be placed at a regional office, field office, current duty station or a current remote duty station at the discretion of management. Additional questions regarding placement should be reserved for the interview process. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Plan, lead and conduct surveys and related disciplines, including the underlying mathematical and physical sciences in combination with public land survey procedures. Develop and administer a regional surveying program that includes program planning, budgeting procedures, and using management concepts. Analyze and abstract survey data obtained from survey plats, master title plats, survey index, quad maps, and field notes to draw relationship diagrams. Develop contract specifications and recommend contract methods and types for differing survey contract applications of moderate to high complexity in accordance with the FAR and other agency policies. Supervise and provide guidance to subordinate staff, manage staff workload and assist in work planning and scheduling. Only experience and education obtained by 10/27/2020 will be considered. Basic Education Requirement Possess a Bachelor's degree in land surveying; or civil engineering with a surveying option/emphasis. The civil engineering degree must have included:
at least 6 semester hours of surveying; 3 semester hours of land law; and 21 additional semester hours in any combination of the following:
surveying, photogrammetry, geodetic surveying, geodesy, route surveying, remote sensing, cartography, survey astronomy, land information systems, computer-aided mapping, aerial photo interpretation, and survey analysis and adjustments. NOTE:
You must submit a complete, legible copy of your transcripts to verify college courses, OR Possess a combination of education and experience--courses equivalent to a major in land surveying or civil engineering as described in paragraph A, plus appropriate experience or additional education that furnished a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional land surveying. You must submit a complete, legible copy of your transcripts to verify college courses and your resume must support specialized experience, OR Possess a valid current license as a Land Surveyor, in a State or District of Columbia of the United States obtained by written examination. Registration must have been obtained under conditions outlined in the National Council of Engineering Examiners (NCEE) Unified Model Law for Registration of Surveyors. NOTE:
You must submit proof of your registration based on successful completion of the written examinations. Specialized Experience Possess at least one full year of specialized land survey experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Examples of specialized experience may include:
perform difficult and complex boundary surveys of land involved in acquisitions, disputes, and boundary retracement for the purpose of marking or posting lines; define and recommend solutions to complex problems of boundaries along portions of land (tidelands, submerged lands, swamp and overflowed lands, navigable and non-navigable lakes and rivers, and others) including retracement, examination and determination of importance of historical documents providing source and chain of title, jurisdictional control, common law trust, rights of use, patents, and others; perform description reviews, certification of riparian and water boundaries, contract administration and preparation of new parcel descriptions; assist in the planning, scheduling and monitoring of work performed by co-workers and/or subordinates; train or provide training of staff members in the use of surveying and mapping equipment and related accessories or peripherals; determine the merit of Land and Geographical Information Systems as they pertain to land acquisition; operate electronic measuring systems (e.g. photogrammetry, remote sensing, computer software, Global Position Systems, Electron Distance Meter, and Land Information Systems; experience in cadastral retracement procedures. NOTE:

You must provide a copy of the Certificate of Eligibility for Non-Competitive Hiring Based for Public Land Corps Service. (1) In order to be eligible for PLC non-competitive status, a former member of the PLC must provide documentation, as part of their application, verifying their eligibility and meet the following criteria:
(a) Served as a qualified youth on an appropriate conservation project completing a minimum of 640 hours of satisfactory service that included at least 120 hours through the PLC; (b) Applied to a vacancy announcement for which applications are being accepted from individuals with non-competitive status; (c) Meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) minimum qualification standards stated in the vacancy announcement for the position which you are applying; and (d) Completed his/her most recent Corps service, which provided him/her with a total of 640 hours, inclusive of 120 hours on a PLC project as defined in 16 USC 1723(d), within the last two (2) years. (2) Appointments must be effected within the two years requirement. (3) The two year time-frame cannot be extended. (4) Selectees will be subject to a probationary period. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
