Overview of the position: The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for:

- Ensure the stable and secure operation of the Client Server infrastructure including infrastructure services (e.g. DNS, DHCP, AD, AAD, File & Application servers etc.) and Hyper-V hosts.

- Ensure back-up and recovery policies are followed including timely & successful completion of back-up jobs, appropriate timing & frequency of back-ups, appropriate retention and rotation of data, appropriate audit & test of back-ups to ensure restorability, implementing or upgrading back-up policies & procedures, etc.

- Ensure compliance with Client Cyber Security program including following server build and hardening processes, appropriate refresh of hardware & operating systems, timely patch management, remediating cyber security & penetration test findings, etc.

- Leverage industry and vendor best practices to architect and improve infrastructure, database and application server hosts to maximize performance, manageability and security.

- Administration of Office 365 and SharePoint, AD Certificate Services, Veeam Backup and Replication and some exposure to networking on Cisco and Juniper platforms.

- Able to document builds, solutions and things as pertaining to Server & Network infrastructure

Performance Expectations:

- Ensure availability, security and performance of server infrastructure including infrastructure services, database servers, application servers, etc.

- Ensure timely completion of scheduled maintenance.

- Ensure timely completion of scheduled back-ups.

- Ensure timely response to and recovery from system outages commensurate with defined SLAs.

- Ensure management of AD/AAD accounts commensurate with SLAs and CP Cyber Security Program.

- In partnership with IT peers and leveraging industry and vendor best practices, ensure server infrastructure is properly architected and sized to meet the availability, security and performance needs for which it is designed.


- Ensure availability and performance of Windows infrastructure commensurate with SLAs.

- Respond to and resolve service disruption Identify opportunities for measurable improvement in the Engineering function and across Client (as driven from the Engineering function) as it relates to the adoption and use of technology.

- Perform cost benefit analyses and make formal recommendations to IT, Engineering and Senior Client management regarding new technology, technology upgrades and/or how technology is used within Client in general and/or Client Engineering in particular.

- Ensure implementations are well planned and executed including setting and meeting appropriate expectations, defining and delivering success criteria, defining and hitting milestones, adhering to budget and schedule, ensuring new technology and/or process adoption, measuring and reporting results, and communicating with Engineering, IT and Client management throughout the process.

- Manage project portfolios including negotiating and communicating priorities, optimizing throughput (i.e. number of projects successfully completed per year), manage multiple projects and project managers.



- Proven ability to architect, operate, troubleshoot and optimize a server infrastructure in a hybrid cloud topology including but not limited to DNS, DHCP, AD, AAD, DCs, O365, SharePoint, OneDrive, Hosted Exchange, GPOs, SCCM/Intune, DFS, ADFS etc.

- Proven success architecting, operating, troubleshooting and optimizing Windows and SQL servers on-prem. Experience with SQL cluster/Always on (both physical & virtual servers), in Azure and in AWS.

- Architecture: Proven ability to leverage industry and vendor best practices to architect infrastructure, applications and database solutions. Includes proper use of physical versus virtual versus cloud platforms, distributed versus centralized systems, sizing, separation versus consolidation of services, etc.

- Operations: Proven ability to ensure High Availability, recoverability, security and performance of a Windows server infrastructure and Virtualization (Hyper-V, Storage Space Direct, VMware ESX)

- Strong Power Shell Scripting or other Scripting abilities. Some exposure to DevOps.

- Best Practices: Demonstrated ability to leverage industry (e.g. ITIL) and vendor (e.g. Microsoft) best practices to ensure optimal architecture and operations of server infrastructure, database, file and application servers.

- Communication: Solid written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present confidently in front of large audiences. Proven ability to listen and understand. Proven ability to persuade and reach agreement.

skills: Preferred Education and Experience

- 4-year degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.

- ITIL Foundations Certificate or experienced practices.

- 7+ years in a Sr Admin role or related experience

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
