Our West Division is now comprised of Blood Centers of the Pacific (San Francisco/Bay Area), United Blood Services on the Central Coast of California and in Northern Nevada.

We are looking for an RN to work in our Sierra Oaks Donor Center, located at 3099 Fair Oaks Blvd.
, and throughout the Sacramento Area in other donor centers as needed.
This is a great career opportunity for the RN who is ready to move away from acute care or long term care / residential center nursing!
Qualifications:
Must be a California-licensed Registered Nurse.
Current Health Care Provider CPR certificate required.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures a must.
Strong customer service and communication skills required.
Valid CA driver's license and clean driving record required.
Job Duties:
Work at a Sacramento area donor center or on Mobile blood drives (Flex or Float Pool) to perform all activities of blood and automated blood collection which include:
labeling of bags & specimen tubes; skin preparation; phlebotomy; care of unit of blood, and donor before, during and after venipuncture.
Perform donor registration and medical interview to evaluate donor eligibility to donate blood based on written Standard Operating Procedures.
Perform Charge Nurse duties as scheduled.
Prepare and pack blood for transport or delivery to lab.
Perform quality control of equipment and maintain supplies.
Other Requirements:
Must be able to work variable hours, days and overtime (incl early mornings and eves) and weekends.
Will work at a greater Sacramento area BloodSource location or at a mobile blood drive as needed.
Must have dependable transportation.
REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge/ EducationHigh School graduate or GED required.
Licenses/ CertificationsRN where required by law or SOP.
Valid in-state driver's license preferred.
ExperienceSix months previous work experience in a healthcare related position required.
Skills/AbilitiesMust possess the skills and abilities to successfully perform all assigned duties and responsibilities.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Must have proficient computer skills.
Must be able to read and comprehend written procedures and instructions.
Must be able to work flexible shifts.
Must have good customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a team environment and participate as an active team member.
Ability to travel, as required.
