The Information Security Office is currently seeking an IT Associate/HIPAA Analyst to perform a variety of critical tasks, including assisting with regular audits and assessments to identify potential risk and vulnerabilities in data security and privacy practices and drive our CalPERS mission.
Under general supervision of the Governance, Risk and Compliance Manager, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Analyst will help develop and implement policies and procedure to safeguard protected health information (PHI), educate CalPERS program areas, and help ensure compliance across the organization, business partners, and third-party vendors.
The IT Associate will assist with investigations and respond to any incidents or breaches of PHI, working closely with IT teams and legal departments to mitigate risks and take appropriate corrective actions.
