Production and/or Sanitation Supervisor, Various Shifts, 24 hour operation Reports To:
Plant Manager Chalet Desserts is a fast growing local bakery and confectionary company suppling companies such as Wal Mart, Raley's, Safeway and Savemart.
We specialize in smaller upscale desserts that are many times handmade but in large volume.
Position
Summary:
Responsible for leading the department when the Plant Manager is unavailable.
Responsible for ensuring department runs efficiently, meeting all department goals and objectives.
Perform all jobs safely, efficiently and accurately to maintain and improve the performance of the entire plant in the areas of Safety, Quality, Reliability (SQR).
Essential Job Functions:
Perform shift start-up activities, including distribution of paperwork for each production system, job assignments, and coordination of needed schedule adjustments.
Instruct contract employees in work rules, methods, and procedures for assignment.
Re-assign or perform production tasks in any position to insure proper coverage during absences or breaks for regularly assigned employees.
Monitor work activity in all production areas to address problems, insure processing procedures, safety rules, and sanitation standards are followed, In absence of Plant Manager, act as liaison with Personnel and/or department head for all personnel related concerns.
Document any work injury or rule violation for Plant Manager review and action.
Assist Plant Manager with cross-training of personnel in job functions as needed.
Assist with basic maintenance and adjustment of equipment in production areas as needed.
Insure proper completion of shift records, labor hours, extra packaging, etc.
Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety training.
Maintain safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and person.
Report any injury or accident immediately to management and/or any unsafe condition.
Supports food safety, quality and legality.
Support, and comply with all quality management systems, continuous improvement programs, food safety, employee safety, preventative maintenance programs.
Support and comply with GMP's Follow all company policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements Must be at least 18 years of age.
High School Diploma or GED.
Ability to read, speak, and write English so as to assimilate, retain, and apply knowledge of job functions and recognize and communicate problems and recommended solutions.
Mechanical aptitude to understand and effect equipment operation and basic maintenance for the job functions described.
Mathematical aptitude to work with formulas and measures required to perform job functions described.
