Working with the public by accepting, gathering, and analyzing information and data and resolving complaints in accordance with the Codes and Standards Division.

Experience communicating tactfully and effectively with the public via email, in person, by phone or by mail Job Duties Process applications submitted for issuance of insignia to requesting parties, HCD approved quality assurance agencies and issuance of air conditioning component labels to contractors.
Receive, research, evaluate, and respond to request from third-party agencies.
Process monthly reports and provide guidance in the paper process reporting procedure and/or online automated reporting process to third party agencies and manufacturers for mandated reporting and insignia issuance orders.
Review and prepare California State Administrative Agency (SAA) reports for submittal to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Review and ensure that all applications from third-party agencies are complete and accurate and use the Department's database to input and analyze information.
Maintain associated third-party agency files in harmony with Department policy the Division's retention schedule.
Ensure correct fees are received, proper forms are submitted, and perform audits as necessary.
Prepare and provide status reports and make recommendations to the public and management.
Intake, process and analyze SAA complaints and prepare/draft correspondence related to SAA complaints.
Plan, design, and carry out within a clear framework established by the supervisor.
Assist the Manufactured Housing and Factory-Built Housing front desk by processing incoming and outgoing mail, route documents, scan, and convert paper records into electronic copies.
Assist in requests for replacement of insignia to mobile homes, commercial modular, and special purpose commercial modular units.
Assist in answering the telephone line and assist at the front counter as needed.
Provide support related to Department regulations and legislation.
Assist in project management of Program and Cross-Division projects.
Responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, and controlling limited-term and long-term projects of varying durations and average complexity.
Extract information from spreadsheets or database file to prepare special reports as requested by Program or Division management.
Gather and analyze data needed to compile reports.
Create, review and/or process documents in compliance with departmental requirements and associated laws.
Other assignments necessary to support the Department's and Divisions mission.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
