ExemptJob SummaryPIC Group has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Principal Site Safety Professional serving as the subject matter expert (SME) in safety and industrial hygiene with two (2) biomass sites located in Northern, CA.
The Principal Site Safety professional reports directly to the Plant Manager for each site, with functional reporting to the corporate safety department, and will provide implementation and oversight of safety programs and policies, maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local health and safety regulations.
The Principal Site Safety Professional will be directly involved with each site's training and auditing, as well as any hazard identification and controls that are required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop, administer, and implement continuous improvement safety programs, policies, and procedures.
Work collaboratively with leadership and employees to strengthen the client's safety culture.
Create and deliver safety-related reports and presentations.
Develop and present safety training and educational programs.
Conduct assessments to ensure compliance with regulations and adherence to company expectations; recommend solutions to address gaps.
Provide leadership and direction in the implementation of strategic safety initiatives.
Interface with regulatory agencies and outside vendors, as necessary.
Monitor regulatory processes that identify future applicable regulations and their impact on operations.
Job Requirements Expert level knowledge of California and Federal OSHA regulations.
Knowledge of electrical standards required to operate safely and mitigate risk.
Extensive knowledge and experience with safety management systems.
Demonstrated proficiency with all Microsoft Office Suite software.
Proven knowledge of the risks and hazards of power generation equipment.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
Excellent oral and written communication skills at all personnel levels, and the ability to positively influence and motivate others.
Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Exceptional problem solving and decision-making skills.
Strong ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with both a business and functional leader, who collaborate on issues and decisions.
Ability to present information at all levels in the organization in a clear and concise manner.
Physical Requirements Ability to reach with hands or arms, climb or balance, stoop, and kneel.
Ability to stand, walk, and sit for prolonged periods of time.
Occasional exposure to wood dust particulate.
Required to frequently lift and carry objects up to 20 pounds in weight.
Vision requirements include the use of close, distance and peripheral vision, along with depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Able to perform job duties in a field office shared by other site personnel, and an operating powerhouse that exhibits a loud noise level.
Education /
Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in occupational safety or related discipline with 7
years of practical experience.
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in occupational safety or related discipline a plus.
Candidates with Certified Safety Professional or Certified Industrial Hygienist certification preferred.
