Summary:
Under direction of the Program Manager, this position is responsible for the direct daily service of low-income and homeless clientele and the facility.
Working with other staff members, this individual conducts screenings & intakes for available services in a fast-paced environment during participants visit to Next Move's Direct Services walk-in site.
This individual observes and helps visitors with basic needs; assists in conflict resolution and crisis intervention; and performs a variety of other duties to assist visitors while on-site.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES &
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
Gather information from clients either in person or by telephone to determine their needs and eligibility for assistance.
Conducts intake process and prepares intake records for participants accepted for assistance.
Assists participants with minor problems and answer routine questions.
De-escalates crisis and responds to crisis situations in a calm manner.
Respond to and assist other providers in delivering services to our participants.
Establish and maintain positive relations with the general public, funding agency, participants and other staff.
Develops and maintain comprehensive lists of community resources for use by program participants and refer program participants as appropriate.
Comprehends and adheres to ethical standards and confidentiality laws.
Attend trainings and meetings as directed.
Other Duties/ResponsibilitiesEstablish and maintain positive relations with the general public, funding agency, participants and other staff.
Ensure compliance with all Goodwill Industries Sacramento Valley Northern Nevada and Next Move's policies, CARF standards, and safety and security regulations.

Basic Qualifications of the Role:
Must have basic interpersonal communication skills.
Must have ability to facilitate different types of conversations with a diverse population.
Experience using basic computer, peripheral equipment and Microsoft Office software.
Must not present a direct threat to the safety and health of self, others or property.
No record or disclosure of criminal conviction that indicates a tendency toward theft, violence, dishonesty, deceit, drug manufacture or sale, moral turpitude, or predatory behavior.
Must provide proof of identification and eligibility to work in the United States of America.
Must be required to pass a drug and background screening.
Must be able to perform essential functions of this job description with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must work effectively with staff, participants and the public.
Preferred Qualifications of the Role:
High School diploma or GED with one (1) year of experience working effectively with the public in a community setting; or AA degree or other degree with emphasis in social science or closely related field; or any combination of education, training, and experience, which would provide the knowledge and ability to complete the duties outlined above.
Demonstrate ability to interview and document in the social work space.
Experience working with low-income adults from diverse social and ethnic backgrounds who have a history of homelessnessMust have understanding of public welfare laws, principles of community organization, and effective use of public and private community resources.
Bi-Lingual-Multi-Cultural knowledge is desirable.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
