We in the CalPERS Health Policy and Benefits Branch / Clinical Policy and Programs Division (CPPD) are looking to match with a Research Data Specialist II (RDS II).
CPPD develops and monitors clinical policy with the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) Self-Funded Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plans, Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) plans, Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM), and Long-Term Care (LTC) Program.
CalPERS Health Plans provide medical and pharmacy benefits to approximately 1.
4 million members.
Under the general direction of the Health Program Manager III, the RDS II will independently develop the most complex research methodologies and conduct comprehensive research on the feasibility and impact of various clinical programs and policies; recommend the best policy options related to quality improvement, pharmaceutical management, population health and health equity to leadership; research best practices for health care, insurance, and industry benchmarks; conduct health care evaluation research studies to evaluate plan and provider best practices and the warning signs and intensity of wasteful or abusive practices; and prepare special data queries and analyses, including health equity analyses, to respond to inquiries for summarized health care information.
