As a LASIK Counselor, you will play a crucial role in guiding and supporting patients through the LASIK surgery process.
Your primary responsibilities will include educating patients about LASIK and PRK procedures and providing emotional support throughout their journey.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of LASIK and PRK procedures, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping patients achieve improved vision and quality of life.
Position is Monday-Friday Compensation:
DOE, monthly bonus Responsibilities include:
Educate patients about LASIK procedures, including the benefits, risks and protential outcomes, ensuring they have a clear understanding of the process.
Explain the pre-operative preparations and post-operative care instrunctions to patients, ensuring they are fully informed and prepared for the procedure and after care.
Address patients questions, concerns and anxieties related to LASIK surgery, providing empathetic support and reassurance throughout the decision making process.
Collaborate with our ophthalmologists and optometrists to ensure accurate and comprehensive patient evaluations, sharing relevant information and test results.
Assist patients in scheduling appointments, coordinating necessary tests amd completing required paperwork.
Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, documenting assessments, discussions and any significant observations or incidents.
Stay updated on the latest advancements in LASIK technology, procedures and post-operative care and effectively communicate this information to our patients.
Collaborate with our surgical team to ensure a smooth and seamless LASIL surgery experience for our patients.
Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive and supportive environment for our patients throughout their LASIK journey.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Certified Ophthalmic Laser Surgery Technician a plus.
Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a LASIK or refractive surgery center.
Strong knowledge of LASIK procedures, including pre-operative evaluations, surgical techniques and post operative care.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex medical information in a clear and understandable manner.
Empathy, compassion and a patient-centered approach to care.
Well-groomed, professional appearance.
Ability to establish rapport and build trusting relations with patients.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to priortize tasks and manage a caseload effectively.
Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems and other relevant software.
