Under the direction of a Staff Services Manager I, in the Division of Program Management, Planning and Modals, the incumbent is responsible for using a variety of computer software to assist in the review and monitoring of the assigned headquarters budget(s).
The incumbent produces and provides analysis on various fiscal reports, projections, and monitors legislation that impacts the division.
The incumbent provides data entry for various fiscal systems and provides guidance on funding for division contracts and budget issues.
The incumbent will make recommendations to the division's leadership based on findings.
What You'll Do:
Responsible for independently ensuring the resource spending activities of the Division do not exceed the assigned division's allocated budget.
Analyzes personnel services and operating expense dollars, by fund, and positions.
Provides monthly expenditure reports, by office, with narrative analysis to management.
Independently conducts monthly review of charging practices to ensure proper charging and makes recommendations when appropriate.
Independently communicates with appropriate staff to correct charging errors.
Independently reviews requests for purchases and service contracts.
Independently maintains reporting systems for all purchases and contracts for the Division.
Monitors purchases, contracts, encumbrances, expenditures, and balances and ensure all supporting documents are included in the files in a timely manner.
Answers fiscal questions related to contracts and budgets.
Independently prepares, maintains, and monitors budget authority and current year spending for State Operations.
Analyzes Fund Condition Statements and funding requirements for multiple programs, allocations, and expenditures to ensure compliance with provisions, regulations, and guidelines.
May act as a lead on special projects, develop budgetary tracking tools, and perform other work-related duties as needed.
Independently analyzes data for division staff in the development of Budget Change Proposal Concepts, Budget Change Proposals (BCPs), and Finance Letters and makes recommendations.
Provides necessary fiscal data as required.
