Duties You will plan and coordinate the work of the Branch through subordinate supervisors and technical experts.Exercise technical supervision, through subordinate supervisors and direct supervision, over a staff of approximately 50 engineering, technical and clerical personnel.As the Deputy Construction Division Chief, you will represent the Chief as needed to support District strategic goals and missions.Serve as the principle source of expertise and advice in contract administration and Federal Regulations pertaining to construction procurement.Prepare the full range of documents required for modifying contract documents, including independent Government cost estimates; technical, cost or pricing data and audit analyses; pre-negotiation objective memoranda; price negotiations memoranda.Make final determinations as to necessity for contract modification, whether work is to be done by change order, or supplemental agreement.Provide staff advice and technical assistance to the Area/Resident offices, other District elements and military and civilian customers as appropriate.Review all plans and specifications prior to award to eliminate recurring design/construction deficiencies, operability problems, and potential environmental concerns and impacts and submits recommendations to Design and Technical Services Branches. You are expected to work in Sacramento, CA.Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.In accordance with DoDI 5000.66 and Defense Acquisition Workforce Act (DAWIA) requirements, this position requires the incumbent to obtain Intermediate Level II certification in the acquisition career field of Contracting within 24 months.SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR:
MUST POSSESS A CURRENT AND VALID PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER (PE) OR REGISTERED ARCHITECT (RA) LICENSE. A COPY OF YOUR CURRENT AND VALID PE/RA LICENSE MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH YOUR APPLICATION.
Salary Range:
$100K -- $200K
