The Operations Specialist is responsible for ensuring excellent department standards, merchandising set-up and execution as directed through company programs in assigned regions.
This position will ensure the departments are running efficiently within the region and communicate with store managers and department managers to support effective operations.
Operations Specialists are responsible for providing support, training and professional performance feedback aligned with operations expectations for all stores within their region.
This region role is responsible for driving store sales, team member engagement, and robust customer advocacy through strong, dynamic leadership to create success in people, processes, partners, and performance.
Overview of
Responsibilities:
Maximize the financial performance of the department(s) in the assigned region Ensures the department(s) consistently and efficiently achieve company and department requirements for merchandising, store conditions, and customer service.
Works closely with merchandising teams and participates in weekly communication with the Regional Vice President and merchant teams to ensure clear communication and direction to stores.
Collaborate, assimilate, and deploy company-wide systems and merchandising enhancements within assigned department(s).
Ability to walk the store and provide feedback to Store Managers, Department Managers, District Director and Regional Vice President.
Assist with developing District Directors to ensure department oversight with attention to the processes and programs.
Embrace and acts as a role model to stores with behavior that aligns with the company's mission and values.
Lead with courtesy, respect, integrity, and care.
Inspect store conditions, customer service performance, in-store merchandising, and compliance with required scheduling and operating procedures.
Collaborate with the District Directors to initiate action with appropriate urgency that corrects deficiencies and exploits opportunities.
Corrects both the immediate deficiency and the root cause of problems within the store.
Inspect sales reports, labor reports, shrink reports, P&L reports, and other financial reports in order to identify outliers and deficiencies.
Communicate effectively with Store Support and the District Directors to facilitate the achievement of objectives for the store department(s) in their region.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field preferred or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
3 years of previous management experience required.
Experience in retail grocery and store management preferred.
Excellent leadership, verbal, and written communication skills with an ability to champion new ideas.
Must have an excellent working knowledge of their departments' processes and merchandising in a grocery retail environment.
Must be able to analyze financial statements; requires basic math skills to calculate discounts, gross margins, markups, percentages, and volume.
Must have a strong command of Microsoft Office applications and experience with web-based dashboarding.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Must be able to travel at least 50% of the time throughout the region for store visits, new store openings, and other activity.
