Summary:
The Grove is a tiny cabin community for any young adults who is experiencing homelessness from the ages 18 to 24.
Working as part of a team, CSA will monitor and direct the client in all areas of the campus.
They may be assigned to campus monitoring and support, security monitoring or maintenance and can be cross trained on all as opportunity arises.
They are responsible for keeping safety watch, day and night, and performing conflict resolution should issues arise.
CSAs are to build a rapport and trust with client in hopes to get them the resources and services they need in hope to end their cycle of homelessness! Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
include the following.
Specific duties may vary based on the shift.
Other duties may be assigned.
Monitor and facilitate the transition of guests from the shelter/cabins to dining, counseling, meeting and or classroom areas.
Direct activities of the clients while at the campus location.
Keep safety watch day and night and lead conflict resolution should issues requiring intervention arise.
Assist guests from the time they wake up, through meal times and through the evenings.
Escalate to Management's attention any observed or suspected abuse and/or neglect of children, disabled individuals, dependent adults and elder/senior citizens.
Collect laundry items, help access stored possessions (if any) and process their exit from the facility as required.
Prepare facility for the next day.
Performs monitoring of video security systems as assigned, escalates as required.
Performs facility cleaning and maintenance as assigned.
Performs campus and client activity monitoring as assigned.
Regular, predictable attendance is required.
Ability to get along and work effectively with others.
Ability to walk in uneven terrain.
Supervisory

Education and/or
Experience:
High school diploma and/or one to three months related experience and/or training.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of a computer tablet, such as an iPad and accompanying applications and software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
A current CA driver's license and proof of auto insurance is not required for this position.
Other Position Requirements:
If a past client of FSC or similar support organization, must have last needed support/housing services at least 6 months ago.
May be asked to travel locally to various sites with 15 miles for each shift.
May be asked to work various day, evening, and overnight shifts.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Understanding of the homeless population and their unique needs.
Strong verbal communication and listening skills.
Ability to exercise extreme patience.
Must be comfortable working with people and flexible in unpredictable environments.
Ability to think quickly and respond calmly to stressful/ emergency situations.
