We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager/Director of Validation Engineering to lead our validation engineering team.
This critical role involves overseeing the validation of our power generation systems and ensuring they meet rigorous performance and quality standards.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and extensive experience in validation processes, testing methodologies, and project management.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement validation strategies and plans for new product development projects.
Lead a team of validation engineers responsible for testing and validating power generation systems, components, and software.
Define validation requirements based on product specifications, customer needs, and regulatory standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design engineering, product management, and manufacturing to ensure validation activities align with project timelines and goals.
Establish test protocols, methodologies, and acceptance criteria for product validation.
Oversee the design and execution of validation tests, including reliability, performance, and safety testing.
Analyze test data, identify issues or areas for improvement, and drive corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality procedures.
Manage the validation engineering budget, resources, and priorities.
Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field).
Advanced degree preferred.
Proven experience (10
years) in validation engineering, including hands-on experience with product testing and validation methodologies.
Preferred:
Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
In-depth knowledge of testing procedures, data analysis techniques, and validation best practices.
Experience working in a regulated industry (e.
g.
, automotive, aerospace, power systems) is desirable.
Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Solid understanding of product development processes and quality management systems.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management.
Experience with reliability engineering, FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), and statistical analysis techniques is a plus.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.
g.
, ISO, UL, CSA) related to power generation systems.

Generac is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
The salary range for this role based in California is $180,000- $218,000.
This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled.
Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate s relevant work experience, skills, certifications and geographic location.
This role is eligible for variable compensation including short term and long term incentives.
This position includes a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans; life, long-term disability, flexible spending and health savings accounts, accrued paid time off, 8 paid Holidays and 401(k) retirement benefits.
