Director, Market Leader - Northern California

The Market Leader is a senior-level management position responsible for providing leadership and direction to senior business leaders (Area Directors) and their teams, in alignment with the Branch Network and Retail Banking strategies and priorities.
The role is responsible for market level growth by growing sales and deepening/retaining client relationships in close partnership with other sales and support teams in the broader US Personal Banking and Wealth Management teams.
The overall objective of this role is to lead an engaged team across multi sites, grow the business, build customer loyalty, lead the development of business strategies or initiatives, and ensure rigorous risk & controls management.
This role is also responsible for overseeing staffing resources and strategies and expense management budgets for a defined marketplace.

Responsible for delivering strong risk and control execution in Market.
Promotes a culture of adherence to rules, policies, regulations, and applicable laws.
Accountable for managing operational and controls, inclusive of leveraging Branch Inspection program to build tactical plans.
Champions risk and control culture and transformation effort and promotes a culture of escalation and self-identificationPivot to Growth:
Responsible to achieve growth plans in Region.

Ensures strong execution of physical network strategies in Market in support of optimizing the business and leverages investments to enhance experience for clientsTransform Operating Model:

Responsibilities:
Executes Retail Bank Strategy in defined market.
Accountable for Market results and building tactical action plans to ensure achievement of goalsLeads strategies to teach, coach and develop Area Directors to be highly effective in their rolesResponsible for overall performance in Client Obsession, Employee Experience, Risk & Controls and Growth of the business in MarketManages risk and controls activities in the Market and identifies areas for improvement, building and executing action plans to strengthen the risk and control environmentsResponsible for delivering sales performance, customer satisfaction and operational excellence across multiple sites in a marketplace and through multi-level managementDrives activities to grow market share and ensures teams are focused on acquiring new clients and deepening and retaining client relationshipsLeverages tools, resources and coaching to enable Area Directors and Branch Managers to drive branch productivityLeads talent engagement strategies to create a great place to work including VOE plans, DEI strategies and talent acquisition plans.
Builds routines with Talent Acquisition to lead Recruiting and Onboarding of talent in alignment with staffing plan.
Leads Performance Management cycle activities across Market.
Oversees client experience in the Market, monitoring client feedback and leading a culture of client obsession.
Executes strategies to enhance the client experience.
Manages escalated client complaints.
Drives utilization of enablers and leads key initiatives of the Branch Network, serving as a change agent, and ensures consistent execution across marketDevelops consistent management routines to share best practices, manage performance, ensure clear expectations, and keep teams focus on business goalsEnsure consistent execution of national priorities and a disciplined and consistent sales and service management process, coaching and developing Area DirectorsLead teams to approach and engage clients in both traditional and non-traditional, open architecture branch settings to identify and meet the financial needs of clients.

years of relevant experienceExperience in people managementExperience in sales management, retail banking or related businessExperience managing customer feedback/customer satisfaction processes, mentoring peers, and working in a matrix organizationDemonstrated ability to foster teamwork, lead, coach, motivate and influence team and colleaguesProven success in sales, service, operations, and employee retentionKnowledge of banking and banking-type productsConsistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communicationDemonstrated presentation, leadership, analytical and problem-solving skillsProven ability to address issues with thoughtfulness and urgency, inspire others and be self-motivated and innovativeEducation:
