Our Technology Infrastructure Services Division is currently seeking an Information Technology Specialist I (ITS I) to be a technical lead within the Enterprise Desktop Support Section.
Under the direction of the Information Technology Supervisor II of the Enterprise Desktop Support Section, the ITS I works primarily in the Client Services domain and performs a wide variety of tasks requiring regular innovative problem solving within broadly stated and non-specific guidelines.
The ITS I works as a high level technical lead on complex assignments and leads work efforts within the section and interfaces with customers at the highest level.
This includes overall installation, maintenance, and administration of CalPERS technology resources (Mac and Windows) in support of a centralized IT environment.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Conduct meetings with managers, technical staff and system users to provide advice and technical information with respect to Information Technology issues.
Review, analyze, and provide recommendations or solutions to management, staff, customers, and project teams regarding PC/LAN hardware/software issues.
Responsible for problem definition and resolutions, and technical decision-making.
Maintains a high degree of technical expertise through discussions with other subject matter experts Reviews available departmental resources, conducts web research to include vendor sites and papers, and researches/evaluates new technology.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
