The mission of the Board is to ensure the health and safety of California consumers by promoting ethical standards and by enforcing the laws of the barbering and beauty industry.
The Board employs a large and diverse team of technicians, field inspectors, analysts, and managers.
Staff is responsible for the licensing, examinations, inspections, and enforcement of the beauty industry.
The Board's Enforcement Unit is currently recruiting for a Special Investigator to conduct administrative investigations in response to complaints alleging violations of business and professions code and Board regulations.
