Sacramento, CA Sacramento, CA Part-time Part-time $16 an hour $16 an hour 13 hours ago 13 hours ago 13 hours ago The Board of Parole Hearing within the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) is seeking to hire a student assistant to assist with a variety of analytical duties for Offender Investigations and Screening Division, under the supervision of a Parole Agent III.
Conditions of Employment This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position.
Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc.
is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc.
and the employee.
This means that either University Enterprises, Inc.
or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause.
Depending on the type of position you are applying for, a pre-employment background check consisting of one or more of the following may be conducted:

Prerequisites Must be a college student attending classes during the regular term (Fall, Spring and Winter, if applicable), at one of the accredited colleges or universities on our affiliation list.

six-semester units or nine quarter units for undergraduate students; four-semester units or six quarter units for graduate students.
Students declared major must match the major(s) listed in the job posting.
Majors/Fields of Study Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Psychology, Social Work Work Schedule F lexible workdays and work hours, Monday - Friday, between 8 AM - 5 PM.
The final work schedule will be determined by the supervisor.
Additional Work Schedule Student Assistant and Graduate Assistant employees generally work up to 24 hours per workweek (Sunday - Saturday) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per workweek during breaks; (winter, spring, and summer).
Minimum Qualifications Positive attitude, reliable, good attendance and a general willingness to learn.
Must be able to interact with customers in friendly and professional manner.
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications Individuals who are, or have been, a dependent child in foster care, a homeless youth or a formerly incarcerated youth as defined by Government Code section 18220 are encouraged to apply and will be given priority.

Duties and Responsibilities The student assistant will be responsible for receiving, tracking, and reviewing applications submitted to determine if applicants meet criteria for a prisoner transfer to their country of origin to serve the remainder of their prison sentence.
Physical Requirements Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment including computer workstations, telephones, calculators, copiers, printers, and scanners with or without reasonable accommodation.
Working Conditions Work is performed in a remote office environment.
Employees will be required to work according to the current UEI remote workplace policy and sign a UEI telework agreement.

Apply by 9/15/23 The Board of Parole Hearings (Board) conducts parole consideration hearings for adult inmates under the jurisdiction of the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
The Board's workforce includes seventeen commissioners, deputy commissioners, and administrative and legal staff.
The Commissioners convene once a month to conduct a public business meeting.
These monthly meetings are open to the public and held in the Board's Sacramento office.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
