Job Description:
Sr.
Database Engineer Engage3 is currently seeking a senior Database Engineer to build, maintain, optimize, and scale all aspects of our database systems, while working closely with the Development and Operations teams.
You will be a point of escalation, and do everything in your power to ensure fast, reliable, and consistent databases.
This position requires an ability to thrive in a fast:
paced, ever:
changing environment with a high standard for quality, an eagerness to learn new technologies, and maintain calm focus under pressure.
If you are passionate about databases (Oracle, Postgres, NOSQL) and would like to work in a cutting edge consumer retail environment, then you are the right person for Engage3 ?7
years of hands:
on experience with large RDBMS design and administration using UNIX/Linux type operating systems Proficiency in a scripting language of your choice (shell, Perl, Python, Ruby, etc) for monitoring and custom automation Senior level experience with Oracle and Prostgres:
tuning, query optimization, replication, storage engines, monitoring, capacity planning, backup, HA, etc Tasks include:
Data Loading and transformation Monitoring and automation of database related tasks Database Administration Adapting to constantly evolving/changing requirements Mentoring junior developers with a positive attitude Expected competences include:
? ?Ability to absorb, master and leverage emerging technologies.
?Excellent written and verbal communication skills Working well in a team environment Ability to work well under pressure in a fast:
paced environment Able to work extended hours when needed to deliver results Preferred qualifications include:
Oracle 10g/11g Certified DBA, Professional or above ?PostgreSQL 9.
X DBA certification ?Senior level escalations experience.
Experience with NoSQL systems like Mongo, Cassandra or Hadoop is a plus BS or MS in Engineering or a related field is preferred Source:
